Taekwondo causes brain damage

Hey People!

I decided recently to take up martial arts and become a one man killing machine feeling no pain or fear all opponants would be afraid!

so i joined up with Krav maga the most deadly martial arts system the world has ever known!!!

dun dun dun so i turned up saw a group of guys all wearing krav maga t shirts and i got a free session they got me involved very quickly and they start by conditioning you to touch other people which i think is a great idea in fact just in my daily life and at bars and such i am much more comfortable touching someone else which i guess is the first step to hitting someone.

the excersizes are good lots of moving and punching the air and jumping press ups sit ups then you pair off and get taught a technique eventually it gets harder and harder as you speed up on each other untill the end when you put everything together in pad sparring or trying to restain someone and they kick or hit you.

its good sparring against multiple opponants as a street fight would be.

those are good points, the bad points are it seems very sort of just punch them anyway you like kick anyway you like nothing really gets taught properly when i say that i mean they dont teach you how to throw a punch how to kick properly. its very buy all your stuff from us, they want you to look the part you need groin guards and shin guards and a mouth guard people you train love smacking you in the face. a t-shirt you get free and some black trackies from home and trainers.

and your hands will get conditioned with the punching of things with your bare hands i have picked up a few injuries from classes such as a hand sprain from someone defending, puched in the face twice and another guy broke his nose.

So because i needed to learn how to throw a punch i took up boxing
When i walked into the place it struck me as very commercial on the noticeboard in the office there was a sign that said "must make money!" the guys i was training with made me feel very welcome and i strapped on some 10oz gloves and strated hitting away after a while the trainer calls you over and tells you your doing everything wrong and how to do it better then you get sent back over to do more bag work.

the good points are you get taught how to throw a punch properly where to hit on your knuckle and how to turn how to keep your chin down and hands up how to take pain and carry on all of this is very good.

the bad points are they dont seem to give to much of a **** about you i mean i bought 16oz gloves and hit a bag with no handwraps after about 5 hits my hands started getting these shooting pains the trainer didnt understand why i was in pain and the boss guy told me i needed wraps.

i bought some wraps and now all is well i mentioned my stupidity to another guy and he said he did the same thing and his hands were still hurting now.

so thats a lesson for novice boxers use hand wraps they are not optional!

also it will help your krav maga and hte instructor will compliment you on your punching skill.

next i joined Taekwondo this is probably the place i feel most valued
i really get a sense the instuctor gives a **** and i learn everything from punching to kicking repetitivley untill i get it fully and you get a damn good warm up!

i get to punch boards kick boards spar with people and learn endless kata's.

you get your dobuk supplied and all you need is yourself to turn up.

the kicks are the most useful and in krav maga sparring you can easily unleash a volley of frount kicks to the chest which are really hard to block, a roundhouse you can parry with your shin but a frount kick you can really only get out the way.

Then i joined a BJJ class every day this i am not sure about and i might end up dropping it's all about the ground and is really hard to pick up and they dont teach any throws i think it would only really be good if someone got me on the ground and it feels a lot like why the british army doesnt teach unarmed combat because if it gets to that point you fucked up so much that time would be better spent learning something else.

yes its very technical and seriously i dislike when things are not taught in steps i mean in 6 weeks nothing has sunk in at all i joined the jitsu foundation and they taught me the scarf hold and i went in and told them and they taught me how to get out of the three holds i was in.

the jitsu foundation is pretty fun i like the way everyone goes to the bar after training so its pretty social they teach you bit by bit for each grading and most things are practical and easy to learn.

they dont teach you strikes or kicks but more how to deal with punches and locks and throws and side control.

I am also doing a kickboxing class early morning which seems A) expensive B) soft C) teaching a style of kickboxing i have never heard of or seen mentioned outside of their gym

on sundays i am trying out a more classical jujitsu to complement the jitsu foundation hopefully it will be a bit more hard core

oh and JKD and kali for most of the day on sundays to see how that goes.

next week i am joining up with a very strong judo class that has been around for years to learn the throws to actually get people on the ground its not commercial and teaches more for your benifit

and i am enrolling on a 16 week course in wing chun.

So this is my martial arts journey up to now so far i have learned a few things the hard way and discovered a love for tiger balm the red one.

if anyone has any advice comments everything is welcome!
