Not sure if this belongs here or in Weapons Forum. I recently came across ads for pepper "guns," which shoot pepper spray but are configure to look more like pistols rather than the usual spray canisters. The advantage seems to be that they do not shoot an aerosol that is prone to dispersal. I imagine that, for those used to firearms, they'd also be easier to aim. Here is a model made by Mace products that is advertised to fire up to 7 blasts at a 20 foot range:

There is also a model made by Kimber. The Kimber pepper gun is smaller, but fires only 2 blasts and is not reusable, while the Mace model can be reloaded.

Apparently these are in use by law enforcement agencies. Are there any LEOs or other Bullies that are familiar with the performance of these pistols? Any opinions on the design? They come in optional pink color that I see as an advantage, should you have one in your possession when the Five-Oh shows up.
Edit: law enforcement agencies use a different model, these are for civilian use.
