Cormier makes his run at 205. Lets examine the EPIC potential of this gifted competitor.

I won't get too deep into it, as it's a discussion thread and no a bio, but let's start with him not dropping a round, nor being knocked or taken down in his pro career. Holy crap!

He was a smallish HW fighter, and took the path some wish Fedor would have, by cutting down to be sizable in the weight class below.

His first test at LHW was against a fill in, and the hands that felled Bigfoot (right off his Fedor victory) wouldn't get to reach out for Rashad Evans. The arms that slammed Josh Barnett wouldn't have a chance to entwine Pat Cummings, as the first couple of uppercuts were alone far too much for him to withstand.

The power that translates down so well, accompanied by a low center of gravity, and the best mma wrestling in mma (in my opinion) is going to be a tough test for any fighter.

DC has the supreme wrestling base chassis, the fast big guns chins can't handle, and the footwork delivery system to take anyone and make them look ineffectual.

Add to that his primary training partner has been the top HW in the world for some time, and you have a recipe for greatness. This is like Steve Young and Joe Montana sorta. Close enough for me to get excited.

Bullies, what are your thoughts on DC at 205?
