This is all great advice! I find myself telling our white belts
1. Relax, relax, breathe and relax some more.
2. Frog hops and duck walks will help strengthen your legs, muscles around the knees and lower back so that you don't find yourself hesitating to get into a nice low stance.
3. When you first start out you'll be fired up. REALLY fired up and ready to kick some ass. This will not always be the case though. Breakthroughs are followed by plateaus which are followed by more awesome breakthroughs. The key is to keep going and simply never quit.
4. If someone says to you "You can't do that on the street or in real life," what they actually mean is THEY can't do it.
5. TAP! Remember.. it's tap or snap. Don't play tough with your partner. Two surgeries with pins and screws and six months recovery time later, the affected joint still won't be the same. Practice safely!
